Blue Crab Awareness Day

Introduction to the Blue Crab, its Impact on the Marine Environment, and Proposed Solutions to Limit its Spread

Audience: Fishermen, researchers, representatives of civil society organizations, government employees, and the general public interested in marine environment conservation.
Registration Criteria: Open to everyone and anyone interested in the workshop topic.

Preparations: A fully equipped lecture hall at the Ministry of Tourism.
Reservation of the Al-Athar Restaurant opposite the Arch of Marcus in the Old City for the tasting event.

Goals:

  • Raise awareness about the problem of the spread of the blue crab and its impact on the marine environment in Libya.
  • Exchange experiences and knowledge among experts, researchers, and fishermen.
  • Propose practical solutions to limit the spread of the blue crab and protect the marine environment.
  • Build a network of experts and stakeholders for future collaboration.

Outcomes:

  • Develop a preliminary action plan to limit the spread of the blue crab.
  • Issue recommendations on policies and measures necessary to protect the marine environment.
  • Increase public awareness of the blue crab issue across various sectors of society.

Budget: Covered costs for venue rental, materials, and the tasting event.
