The Mediterranean Conference on Marine and Coastal Biodiversity was launched on the morning of Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Bab Al-Bahr Hotel in Tripoli.
The event was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Arabi; Deputy Minister of Environment, Mr. Haneen Al-Maawi; Minister of Economy, Mr. Mohamed Al-Hwaij; Deputy for Academic Affairs at the University of Tripoli, Prof. Dr. Khaled Gouma; Head of the Preparatory Committee, Prof. Dr. Ismail Al-Shaqman; Head of the Scientific Committee, Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Taib; Representative of the Regional Activity Centre for Specially Protected Areas, Dr. Mahmoud Elias Hamza; Representative of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Mr. Hammadi Al-Majri; Director General of the National Center for Climate Change, Prof. Dr. Al-Hadi Abu Qarin; Representative of Omar Al-Mukhtar University, Prof. Dr. Ramadan Atiyah; Representative of the Iron and Steel Company, Mr. Hassan Abdulrahman; and Representative of Jumhouria Bank, Mr. Abdullah Aoun, along with a broad participation of experts, specialists, and academic researchers in this field.
