“Sea Generations” Initiative: Cultivating a Love for the Ocean in Our Youth
Because our marine depths are a heritage we must protect, the Libyan Association of Friends of Artisanal Fishing is proud to announce the launch of its flagship awareness project: #Sea_Generations_Initiative. This initiative aims to connect primary school students with the wonders of marine science, fostering a generation that values and protects our aquatic treasures.
About the Project
“Sea Generations” is a series of intensive awareness lectures and interactive workshops tailored for students. Our mission is to introduce the youth to marine biology, the beauty of Mediterranean ecosystems, and the vital importance of preserving our water resources for a sustainable future.
The First Stop: An Inspiring Start at Kids Academy
Our journey began in early February at Kids Academy, where students embarked on a “Journey into the Unknown.”
- A Virtual Dive: Led by Ms. Sara Bin Zaglam, a dedicated member of the association, the classroom was transformed into a virtual diving experience.
- Discovery: Students engaged with the mysteries of the Mediterranean, learning about Libya’s unique marine species and hidden underwater treasures.
Our Vision
We believe that environmental stewardship starts in the classroom. By helping children understand the scientific and ecological value of our coastline, we are not just teaching a subject—we are building a generation of #Sea_Guardians.
